Team-52 of Chattogram Metropolitan Detective Branch (port and DB west) detained a drug peddler with 18,000 pieces of yaba from a bus of Jeddah Transportation on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway on Wednesday.
The detainee was identified as Md Mahmudul Hossain Rakib, 31. He was a passenger of the bus of Jedda Transportaion. The said 18,000 pieces of yaba was seized from him.
It was learnt that, a drive was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Police Commissioner of Chattogram Detective Branch (DB west and port) Muhammad Ali Hossain, who were promoted to Additional Deputy Inspector General. The drive was directed by Deputy Police Commissioner Mohammad Salam Kabir and Assistant Police Commissioner Mahmudul Hassan. Inspector Md. Moktar Hossain led the drive. During the drive, they seized 18,000 pieces of yaba from a bus of Jeddah Transportation in front of an electricity office at AK Khan intersection under Pahartali Thana on the Chittagong-Dhaka highway with the help from the forces of Sub-Inspector Aiyub Khan, Sub-Inspector Md Alauddin and Sub-Inspector Md Alamgir Hossain.
A case was filed against the detainee under Narcotics Control Act in Pahartali Police Station under Chattorgram Metropolitan Police in connection with this incident.
