One held with 120,000 Yaba pills in Cox’s Bazar

BGB and police in a drive arrested a smuggler who had hidden 120,000 yaba pills in the house of a drug dealer in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, with the help of trained dogs.

Lieutenant Colonel Md. Ashiqur Rahman, commander of the Teknaf 2nd Battalion, BGB, confirmed the news on Saturday information.

The arrested Mohammad Ismail (32) is the son of the deceased Sheikh Ahmed of Dargarchhara area of Sadar Union, Teknaf Upazila.

Lt. Colonel Ashiqur Rahman said that, the BGB and police received information about a large consignment of drugs smuggled from Myanmar by sea in Noakhalia Para of Sadar Union, Teknaf. Later, a joint team of the BGB and police conducted a raid on the house of a suspected drug dealer in Dargarchhara area. Sensing the presence of law enforcement officers, some suspicious individuals tried to escape. One person was arrested during the chase, but the others escaped.

“With the confession of the arrested individual and the help of a BGB dog squad member, a drug dealer was able to identify a shipment of drugs near Taher’s residence. Later, according to the identification of the dog squad member, 120,000 yaba pills were found hidden in a special way by digging the ground. “

A case has been filed against the arrested individual at Teknaf Police Station under the relevant law, said the BGB official.
