Thirty seven more persons were diagnosed with Covid-19 positive after testing 203 samples at Bhola 250-bed General Hospital Covid-19 laboratory during the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning in Bhola district.
Among the new positive cases, 28 are in Sadar upazila, one in Tajumuddin upazila, six in Charfashion upazila and two in Lalmohan upazila, civil surgeon Dr. K M Shafiquzzaman said.
One person however has died of Covid-19 during the time here, he said. With the new infection, the total detected people stood at 6,509. Meanwhile, a total of 54 patients recovered from COVID-19 in the span of 24 hours here, climbing the healed persons to 5,712, the civil surgeon said. A total of 87 persons have so far died of COVID-19 in the district, he added. Dr. Shafiquzzaman said infected 23 persons are now undergoing treatment at Bhola 250-bed General Hospital and the rest are at home quarantine under the supervision of doctors from their respective upazila health complexes.
He urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.
He also called upon everyone to be more aware of preventing the deadly virus.
