Heroic freedom fighter Advocate Omar Faruque and Md. Mahmudul Hasan Kayes elected president and general secretary in the Narail Bar Association election held on Monday.
Chief Election Commissioner of the election Advocate Nur Mohammad declared the result on Monday afternoon at 4:30pm.
Sources said that Narail Sadar Upazila Awami League Secretary heroic freedom fighter Advocate Omar Faeque got 71 votes and his only rival candidate Advocate Uttom Kumar Ghos got 67 votes. Member of district Awami League Md Mahmudul Hasan Kayes uncontested elected general secretary in the election.
The other office-bearers are: MM Alauddin (Vice-president),Israfil Khabir Raju (Assistant-Secretary), Md. Raju Ahmed Rajib (Library secretary), Lovely Akter (Law and Social welfare Secretary) and Md. Mishkatur Rahman Sajib, Md. Tutul Sikder, Md. Rakib Hasan, Md. Shimul Fakir, SM Ikbal Hossain (Members).
A total of 138, out of total 142, voters cast votes in the election held from 10:00 am to 3.30 pm.
