Omar Faruk elected president, Deep Azad secy gen of BFUJ

Omar Faruk and Deep Azad have been elected president and secretary general respectively of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ).

Faruk got 674 votes while his nearest rival Abu Jafar Surjo bagged 567 votes. Deep Azad secured 926 ballots while his nearest contestant Abdul Majid got 290 votes. 

Voting for this election took place at the National Press Club on Saturday. The election management committee announced the results at around 9.00 pm.

Nasima Akter Soma has been elected assistant secretary general with 505 votes. 

Khairuzzaman Kamal has been elected treasurer. Sebika Rani has been elected office secretary.

Four elected executive members are Ummul Wara Sweety (1022 vots), Dr. Utpol Kumar Sarkar (651 votes), Nure Jannat Akther Sima (642 votes), and Sheikh Nazmul Haque Saikat (604 votes).
