An old man named Shahar Molla (70) was killed on his way home after praying at Akhaura in Brahmanbaria recently.
The accident took place in municipal area Shantinagar recently. Shahar's house also was in Shantinagar. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Akhaura Police Station Noore Alam said that Shahar was returning home via Bara Bazar-Dharkhar road around 6:30 morning after offering Fajr prayer. He was seriously injured when an auto-rickshaw bound for Akhaura hit him. In this situation, Shahar was rescued and taken to Akhaura Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor declared him dead.
The auto-rickshaw driver fled after the incident.
