An Octogenarian woman was allegedly violated at her house in Kamalapur village under Godagari upazila on Wednesday night. The victim has been admitted to One Stop Crisis Centre of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in serious condition. Police arrested Sunil Marandi (55) of the same village in connection with the incident.
Karmul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Godagari police station informed the octogenarian woman Hind woman was sleeping at the verandah of her house alone on Wednesday night when her neighbor Adibashi Sunil violated her.
In the morning the old woman was seen weeping in a pool of blood. She informed her neighbors about the incident of raping her by Sunil. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and sent the victim to RMCH. Police also arrested the alleged rapist.
OC of Godagari further informed the elderly aged rape victim's physical condition was serious. She was bleeding profusely. One of her daughters was preparing to file a case with Godagari PS in this connection. The accused arrested person is in police custody and will be sent to jail through court after the case in filed.
