A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute (BORI) and Chittagong University Department of Oceanography.
The agreement was signed in an informal ceremony at the conference room of Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute in Cox's Bazar on Friday afternoon. As a result of this agreement, students, teachers and researchers of both institutions will be able to conduct joint research in various branches of marine science. Both institutions will cooperate in various fields of research and knowledge practice with the aim of opening the doors of the economy. Both institutes will jointly publish joint-research results and jointly organize national and international seminars, symposiums and workshops.
Minister of Science and Technology, Architect Yafes Osman was present as the chief guest at the MoU ceremony. Chittagong University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar and CU Pro VC (Academic) Professor Benu Kumar Dey were present as special guests on the occasion.
Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute Director General (Additional Secretary) Syed Mahmud Belal Haider presided over the meeting. CU Oceanography Department President Dr. Mohammad Moslem Uddin gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the program. Scientists and researchers of BORI were present in it.
The MoU was signed by CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shireen Akhtar on behalf of Chittagong University and Institute Director General (Additional Secretary) Syed Mahmood Belal Haider on behalf of Oceanographic Research Institute.
