The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against acting Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cumilla Detective Branch of Police (DB), A K M Monjur Alam and his wife for corruption.
ACC found proof against the allegation of their involvement in the irregularities and corruption and filed case against them.
Sources informed that the OC of DB Monjur with his wife were involved 21 murder cases. In that way they have earned huge amount of money. The OC and his wife accumulated wealth using their names.
In 2018, when the news of their properties came to public, Monjur fled away to America with his family for 10 days. Ignoring the order of the administration, Monjur with his wife did not return to country till now, after the six years. Nargis, wife of the corrupt DB, OC has made a building in Mirpur. Head Office of ACC gave approval to file a case on 13th February of the year against Monjur and his wife Nargis.
