Engineer Md Nurul Karim was appointed as the Chairman of Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) for three years. The newly appointed CDA Chairman hails from the Narayanhat Shailakupa village under Fatikchhari Upazila of Chattogram.
Md Nurul Karim has been made chairman cancelling the appointment of the Mohammad Yunus, according to a gazette notification issued on Monday.
The notification was signed by Deputy Secretary Kaniz Fatima of the Ministry of Public Administration's Contract and Foreign Recruitment Branch.
The notification said the remaining term of appointment of Mohammad Yunus is cancelled. According to Section-7 of the Chittagong Development Authority Act, 2018, Engineer Md Nurul Karim has been appointed as Chairman of the Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) for a period of 3 (three) years from the date of joining on the condition of leaving employment relationships with other institutions and organizations. Other terms and conditions of this appointment will be determined by the approved agreement. This order will be effective immediately in public interest, the notification added.
Mohammad Yunus, an Awami League leader, was appointed as CDA Chairman on April 24. Although his appointment was for three years, he was removed from his position after just four months and seven days.
