NSTU student gets int’l award

Ahmed Kowsher, a former student of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) received the Scientist of the Year award. Kowsher received this award at the Global Innovation and Excellence Awards 2021 organized by the Institute of Engineering and Management of India.

On Wednesday Kowsher confirmed the news to Bangladesh Post. Kowsher got this award in the category of Science, Research and Innovation for research work on artificial intelligence. The Global Innovation and Excellence Awards 2021 were given in 20 categories.

Kawshar said the nominations for the Global Innovation and Excellence Award 2021 started in March this year. More than a thousand researchers from different countries of the world participated in it. On May 25 they announced the final results.

Kowsher also added, “I am very happy to receive this award. This is my 7th international award for working on artificial intelligence and I have received a total of 11 national and international awards on artificial intelligence .A total of 41 research papers on artificial intelligence published in various journals,” he said.

Besides, Kowsher got the prestigious Provost Doctoral Fellowship Award from the Stevens Institute of Technology (SIT), USA for his PhD. He is currently working as an Artificial Intelligence Scientist at Hishab Limited and preparing for his PhD at Stevens Institute of Technology, USA.
