NSTU student gets Best university chess player award

Mostakim Billah Redoy, student of Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering Department at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) has achieved "Best university chess player award"  in the online chess competition named "Dr. Shahriar Memorial Online Chess Tournament 2020".

On 1 July, Mostakim Billah Redoy confirming this achievement said about the competition, that it was held on June 26 on an online based chess platform named Chess.com. 

He also said, there were  9 rounds of 10 minutes each in the competition. There were competitors from about 20 universities including BUET, Dhaka University, BRAC, Jahangirnagar University and NSTU. 

A total of 223 players from Bangladesh, India and China participated in the tournament including International Master, Candidate Master and FIDE Master level chess players. The competition was organized by Golden Sporting Club, he added.

Mostakim Billah said, “I am very happy to achieve this award.” 

 He also said, it is difficult  to express in words the feeling of getting rewarded while playing for my university. There is still a long way to go. However, I dream that one day NSTU  Chess Team will  be the best university chess team in Bangladesh”.
