NSTU ranks 4th among science, tech varsities in research

The researchers of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) have published 297 research papers in US based Scopus Indexed Journal in 2021.As a result, NSTU ranked 4th position in research among science and technology universities and 12th position among all public universities in the country.

This information was unveiled by Scientific Bangladesh. The ranking is prepared on the basis of research articles of Bangladeshi researchers published in US based Scopus Indexed Journal in 2021.

According to the report, total 11 thousands 477 research articles of Bangladeshi researchers were published in US-based Scopus Indexed Journal in 2021. Around 3,000 research articles were increased in 2021 than 2020.

The chairman of Department of Pharmacy of University and reviewer of Scopus Journal Professor Dr Shafiqul Islam said, “A total of 297 research papers from NSTU teachers and students have been published in Scopus Journal in 2021.This number was 174 in 2020. The number of research of the teachers and students has also increased. The amount of budget for research has increased. As a result, this achievement is possible. We hope NSTU will do better in research in future.” 

NSTU VC Prof Dr Mohammad Didar-ul-Alam said, “The job of a teacher is to do teaching properly and also to give more importance on research. 

No matter how many opportunities there are in this university but I have tried to increase research since I joined.  It is very nice to see that we got success.”

He further said we are grateful to the teachers and students for their research we have got today's results.  

Besides, the Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the contribution of all those who are working hard, including the University Journalists' Association, to take this university forward.
