NSTU holds international conference on machine intelligence

International Conference on Machine Intelligence and Emerging Technologies (MIET)-2022 begins in Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU).

On Friday (23 September) the  inauguration of the International Conference held in the Hazi Idris Auditorium of the university.  In this conference researchers from more  than 20 countries and more than 20 universities  will present more than 100 research papers.

In the inauguration program, Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, MP Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education Government of the people's Republic of Bangladesh attended as the chief guest while

Professor Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain, Member,University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC),  NSTU VC and Chief patron of the conference Professor Dr.  Md Didar-ul-Alam,Pro-Vice Chancellor of NSTU Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Baki,Treasurer Prof. Dr. Mohammed Farque Uddin  attended as special guests.

Among others, President of NSTU Teachers' Association Professor Dr.  Newaz Mohammed Bahadur, general secretary Professor Dr.Firoz Ahmed, Registrar (Additional responsibility) Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Deans of various faculties, Directors of institutes, Chairmen of various departments, students,

teachers, officers,employees were present.

In the speech of the chief guest  Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury (MP) said, "We are advancing rapidly in the field of information technology. Especially in artificial intelligence and data processing we are making progress. Emphasis should be taken on practical and technical subjects in higher education. In the implementation of Vision-2041, under the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, everyone has to work together, only then it is possible to build a developed and modern Bangladesh.  I wish the success of this international conference organized by Noakhali Science and Technology University .Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu."

  University Grants Commission (UGC) member Professor Dr.  Sajjad Hossain said,our main goal in developing Bangladesh should be to emphasize on research and innovation. Nowadays our life is largely dependent on information technology.  Bangladesh is also progressing rapidly in this sector which has been possible under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of the father of the nation.  Universities have to play a major role in building a modern and developed Bangladesh. We have talent, skilled researchers.It should be utilized and emphasis should be placed on research at the university level.  Only then is it possible to build the Sonar Bangla of the father of the nation's dream.Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu'.

NSTU Vice-Chancellor  Prof. Dr.  Md. Didar-ul-Alam said , 'The international conference organized on Machine Intelligence and Emerging Technology will enrich us more in the field of information technology. 

This conference is organized for the first time in NSTU where researchers, academicians and scientists from different countries of the world will present their research papers and this will benefit our students. Bangladesh is rapidly advancing in modern information technology under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

It is to be noted that this conference will be held till 25 September and this conference is   jointly organized by five departments of the university and the Institute of Information Technology (IIT).  Internationally renowned professors and researchers  present as session chairs in the presentation sessions.

The program's events include tutorials, workshops, panels, industrial sessions and project showcases.  The technical tracks in the conference are Machine Learning and Cognitive Computing, Information Systems, Sensing and Security, Imaging, Analytics and Computing. Springer and Taylors & Francis are the publication partners.
