NRB Bank chairman honoured

Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) has accorded a reception to Mahtabur Rahman Nasir, chairman of NRB Bank and managing director of Al Haramain Perfume Group of Company.

The reception programme was held at the building of SCC on Saturday. 

Ariful Haque Chowdhury, mayor of the city corporation, spoke at the reception programme for the CIP who is gold card receiver from the UAE Government. Awami League’s organising secretary Advocate Misbah Uddin Ahmed Siraj also attended the event. 

Citing the contribution of expatriates in Sylhet city of political and religious harmony, Ariful Haque Chowdhury said that Mahtabur Rahman Nasir is working silently for the country. The mayor further said, "We are happy to accord a reception to the social worker." About the NRB Bank chairman, Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, “Despite being very successful, he never displayed pride. This is one of the biggest aspects of his life. This talented man has been working quietly and relentlessly for the development of the country.” 

Speaking at the event, Mahtabur Rahman Nasir said, "I am proud and honored to be the first Bangladeshi to receive a Gold card and I thank the leaders of the UAE government." 

He dedicated the gold card to the 150 million expatriate Bangladeshis who are living in various countries around the world.

The reception programme, was also addressed, among others by Bidhayok Ray Chaudhuri, SCC chief executive officer; Toufique Box Lipon, panel mayor-1; Adv. Roksana Begum Shahnaz, panel mayor-2; Tateyama Kabir, vice chairman of NRB Bank; Mohammed Jamil Iqbal, director of NRB Bank, PS Hasanur Rahman, chairman of NRB Bank; Oliur Rahman, and director of Al Haramain Hospital.
