As the protest and condemnation are continuing throughout the country against the rape of a housewife in Noakhali, another incident of alleged rape of a class seven student at Purbo Awajbalia village under Noakhali Sadar upazila has created a further sensation in the area.
According to sources, the victim student, daughter of late Jahir Uddin of Purbo Awajbalia village herself filed a complaint with Sudharam Model Police station on Wednesday afternoon accusing Jasim Uddin son of Babul Mia of the same village of raping her by assuring her to marry.
The complaint mentioned, Jasim Uddin (22) son of late Babul Mia, a neighbour of the victim often proposed to make love with the class seven student, a teenage daughter of late Jahir Uddin. As the girl refused to agree to his proposal, he continued to pursue her and by luring her to marry, raped her four times a month inside the garden behind her house. On September-15 last, Jasim Uddin again raped her by assuring her to marry. She further mentioned in the complaint that Jasim was now refusing to marry her.
Hosne Ara Begum, mother of the victim informed, he lives in Chittagong. Jasim used to tease her daughter and threatened her regularly on the way to her school. She did not disclose anything to anyone. Last night while she reached her home from Chittagong, Jasim came to her house and asked her daughter to go with him outside when her daughter disclosed the incident of their affair to her mother. But, now Jasim was refusing to marry her and she informed the incident to the people of the locality who advised her to file a case with the police station.
Nabir Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Sudharam Police Station informed, the case has been accepted and necessary action in this connection will be taken soon.
