The utility of a culvert constructed under LGSP-3 project remained unused for the lack of connecting roads on both sides of the culvert at Patichora union on Nazipur-Dhamoirhat regional highway.
According to sources, the culvert was constructed at a cost of Taka 102,037 in 2017-'18 but no linking road to the culvert has been constructed. As a result, the culvert remained unused for a long time.
Mashiur Rahman, contractor responsible for the construction of the culvert informed, the works of connecting roads could not be finished due to monsoon. Now the monsoon is gone, the works of connecting roads would be started soon.
Liton Sarker, Upazila Nirbahi Officer inforemd, he would take action against the contractor after investigation.
