Liberation War Minister A.K.M. Mozammel Haque on Wednesday said that there is no obstacle in political activities as Bangladesh is a democratic state.
Every party except the underground party can carry out political programs, the government will not hinder anyone's work, he assured.
He disclosed it while talking to the reporters after holding the 12th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order at the Secretariat in the capital Dhaka.
The parties are holding meetings and forming committees smoothly. The government has no plans to block the program of any party, he continued.
The minister also mentioned that action will be taken against not only political parties but also anyone's activities if there is a deterioration of law and order or if there is any threat to the safety of public life, he vowed.
He claimed that some political parties have a tendency to undermine law and order.
Mostafizur Rahman, senior secretary of the public security department of the interior ministry was given the responsibility of coordination to prevent any potential tendency of undermining law and order.
The Liberation Minister said that there is a tendency among some political parties to carry illegal weapons, acts of sabotage, religious incitement and deterioration of law and order.
We have discussed the issues so that one can always be alert, that no accident can happen, he added.
We also discussed various issues so that the law and order forces can always be aware to provide security to people's lives and property.
The minister further said that the senior secretary of the public security department was given the responsibility to coordinate various forces to maintain law and order. He will coordinate all these tasks of the forces. Chiefs of all law enforcement agencies will also be included.
He will seat with them and coordinate what can be done.
