Police Bureau of Investigation, PBI, has not found any evidence to support the allegation that a woman was held at a GRP police station in Khulna and was violated the whole night by five policemen. PBI has submitted a final report in this case to the court. However, the PBI has found evidence that the woman who alleged that she was raped, was kept at the police station and beaten.
The woman in question refused to do a DNA test, said PBI super in Khulna Anisur Rahman on Monday at a press conference in Khulna.
On Aug 2, 2019, a woman with five bottles of Phensidyl was caught on a Khulna-Benapole train and brought to the Khulna GRP police station. After a case was lodged, the woman was kept at the police station overnight. On 3 August, the arrested woman complained at court that she was raped in the police station by the OC, Osman Pathan and others.
Later the accused lodged a case against Pathan and the other members of the police. PBI’s investigating officer Sheikh Abu Bakar did not find any evidence of sexual harassment or rape against Pathan or the other police members.
