No Covid deaths for 25 days in a row Positivity rate 0.86pc

No Covid-19 deaths were reported on the 25th consecutive day, while 33 new infections were recorded in 24 hours till 8am on Sunday. The total number of deaths remains at 29,127, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

It has been 25 days since the last Covid death was logged in the country. Only one death from coronavirus was recorded on 20th April. 

The mortality rate of Covid-19 is 1.49 percent and the total number of cases rose to 19, 53,012, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 0.86 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.90 percent, said the press release.

A total of 3,818 samples were tested across the country during this time.

At least 269 patients recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,99,419 and the recovery rate at 97.26 percent, added the release.

Experts believe that the relentless vaccination campaigns conducted at regular intervals played a vital role in bringing down the impact of the deadly virus.

According to them, the country has reached a systematic result due to the efforts of all in tackling the deadly virus.
