No Covid-19 patients in Bandarban hospitals

All the COVID-19 patients who were kept at the isolation unit of Naikhong Chhari upazila health complex in Bandarban, returned home after their full recovery. 

On Wednesday, the remaining three corona positive patients in the upazila recovered and returned home from the health complex. Now all the hospitals and health complexes in the district have zero patients.

Alam Ara and Shaheda Akhter, along with a five-year-old child from Cambonia area of Naikhong Chhari upazila, were discharged on Wednesday. 

They recovered fully after fighting with corona for two weeks, said upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Abu Jafar Selim.According to the Bandarban Health Department, the number of sample tests sent to the lab from Naikhong stood at 171. 

Of these, the reports of five people including a child were positive but the reports of the remaining 166 people were found to be negative.

Dr Aung Sui PruMarma, a civil surgeon in Bandarban, said, “Nine corona-positive cases had been detected in Bandarban district so far and all of them had recovered and returned home after treatment in hospital isolation. 

No one has died of the coronavirus in Bandarban so far. Previously, samples from people who died of corona symptoms tested negative.”

He further added, “So far 771 samples have been collected from Bandarban and sent to Chattogram for testing, out of which reports of 519 people have been received. From them only 9 people tested positive.
