Ishwardi Upazila Juba League President Shirhan Sharif Tamal said, “We cannot disappoint Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, with disjoint and division in Awami League ahead of Pabna-4 by-election.”
He said this while speaking at an extended meeting jointly organised by Ishwardi Upazila, Municipal Juba League and Chhatra League at Pabna's Awami League party office on Station Road in the town on Wednesday.
Juba League president Tamal said the late MP Shamsur Rahman Sharif had gifted the Pabna-4 seat to Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina five times in a row due to his political foresight. In his absence, Sheikh Hasina is currently the guardian of this seat. She will nominate whomever she deems fit.
He further said that the seat would be gifted to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina again by electing the person who will bring the boat symbol. But it has been noticed for some time that even before the announcement of the name of the candidate, some members of Chhatra League and Juba League
