He said this while addressing as the chief guest at a community-policing rally in the town hall grounds of Jashore town on Tuesday afternoon.
Jashore district community policing forum convener Sheikh Ali Akbar presided over the meeting while deputy commissioner Md.Shafiul Arif, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ashraf Hossain, district council chairman Saifuzzaman Pikul, district Awami League President Shahidul Islam Milon, Jashore municipal mayor Zahirul Islam Chakladar Rentu, Press Club, Jashore president Zahid Hasan Tokon,Member secretary of district community policing forum ZM Ikbal Hossain were spoke on the meeting as special guests.
DIG Khandaker Mahid Uddin also said that police are now public friendly. So the police have to work with the people.People should be more aware of eliminating corruption, drugs and militancy. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has adopted zero tolerance policy on drugs, militancy, terrorism and corruption. There is no compromise on these.
He added that Bangladesh was independent in 1971 led by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Some fanatics tried to destabilize the country in the name of religion. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,daughter of Bangabandhu saved the country from the fanatics with the skill.To the youth of the society he said, dope test will be done before joining government service.
