Nine model Mosques and Islamic cultural centers will be constructed in Jashore at the cost of Tk 115. 67 crore.
Under the project of establishing 560 model mosques in the country, one model mosque and Islamic cultural center will be established in each district headquarter and each upazila. So the Ministry of Religious Affairs will build nine model mosques and Islamic cultural centers in the district headquarter and eight upazilas under the supervision of Public Works Department.
District Public Works office sources said, a model mosque and Islamic cultural center will be constructed at Railgate Jame Mosque area in Jashore district headquarter at the cost of Tk 14.87 crore, it will be constructed at Monirampur with the cost of Tk 12.50 crore, at Keshabpur with the cost of Tk 12.58 crore, at Abhaynagar with the cost of Tk 12. 59 crore, at Bagherpara with the cost of Tk 12.59 crore, at Jhikorgacha with the cost of Tk 12.26 crore, at Chaugacha with the cost of Tk 12.28 crore, at Sharsha with the cost of Tk 13.40 crore, and the model mosque will be built at Jashore Sadar Upazila at the cost of Tk 12.56 crore.
Jashore Public Works Department’s Assistant Engineer Md. Tariqul Islam said that construction of nine model mosques and Islamic cultural centers in eight upazilas and district headquarters in the district during the fiscal year 2019-20 has already completed the tender process. He expressed optimism that the construction work would be completed on the fixed time at the year of 2021.
