Nihon Gateway Academy, a Japanese language education and career support institution, has officially launched operations in Dhaka, aiming to help Bangladeshi students and job seekers pursue higher education, employment and long-term careers in Japan.
The academy, located at FM Tower in East Rajabazar, Dhaka, is operated under the direct supervision of IMAS Co., Ltd., an Osaka-based Japanese company with nearly 50 years of experience. Its operations in Bangladesh are managed by IMAS Frontier Bangladesh Ltd.
The inauguration was marked by a grand opening ceremony and an open seminar titled "Specific Skilled Worker (SSW) Program and the Latest Employment Opportunities in Japan," attended by students, job seekers, parents and professionals from different sectors.
Academy officials said the institution offers integrated support services covering Japanese language education, student visa processing, the Specific Skilled Worker (SSW) programme, job placement and post-arrival assistance in Japan.
Initially, the academy has launched JLPT N4 and JLPT N2 Japanese language courses. The curriculum follows the Ohtake Method, developed by Principal Dr Tadashi Ohtake, which is designed to help learners acquire Japanese language skills efficiently within a shorter period.
In addition to language instruction, students will receive training on Japanese society, workplace culture, business etiquette, interview techniques and practical aspects of daily life in Japan.
The academy said it will also provide end-to-end support for skills assessments, job applications, interviews, visa processing and employment placement under Japan's Specific Skilled Worker (SSW) visa programme. The initial focus will be on recruiting logistics truck drivers and automobile mechanics.
Students seeking higher education in Japan will receive assistance with admission to partner language schools in Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe, interview preparation and student visa processing.
Academy officials said support would continue after arrival in Japan, including assistance with accommodation, government documentation, utility services, daily living arrangements and, where necessary, legal and counselling services.
Chairman Kiyoshi Shirako said the academy aims to create sustainable career opportunities for Bangladeshi youth while strengthening bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan.
Principal Dr Tadashi Ohtake expressed hope that Nihon Gateway Academy would become a trusted partner for Bangladeshi students and professionals aspiring to study and work in Japan, further deepening ties between the two countries.
The academy also announced that admissions are now open for its Japanese language courses, SSW preparation programmes and student visa support services.
