A newly widowed childless woman was gang raped at Baraigram in Narore. Police detained one accused, Mokhlesur Rahman, 34, in this connection on Sunday. The detainee is the son of Rajaullah of Digholkandi Village under Boraigram union.
Mokhlesur and two others raped the women on last Wednesday night. Neighbors came to rescue her after hearing her screaming at that time. Although Mokhlesur was restraint by them, the other two escaped quickly.
Later in the night, the Local Arbitrators gave the widow 2 thousand taka and advised her to remain silent about the incident.
In fear of being raped again, she fled to her paternal house the next day. Local UP Chairman, Abdul Momin demanded punishment for the accused. Police Inspector of Boraigram Police Station, Sumon Ali informed that, Mokhlesur was detained and they are trying to detain the other two accused.
