A newborn baby has tested Covid-19 positive in Chattogram General Hospital. The mother of the baby was a Covid-19 patient and went under a C-section to give birth in the hospital on May 24.
Dr HM Hamidullah Mehedi, a consultant of medicine at the hospital, confirmed the matter.
He said that as the mother was a Covid-19 patient, samples of the baby were sent for coronavirus testing on May 25. The result came back positive on Thursday night.
