The newly appointed Deputy Commissioner (DC) for Narail Asfakul Haque Chowdhury on Thursday sought cooperation of media workers to coordinate initiatives for development and implementing the zero tolerance policy against corruption.
The DC made the call in a view exchange meeting with local journalists from the print, electronic and online media at deputy commissioner’s conference room in Narail district town at 12:30 pm. During the exchange of views, the overall law and order situation of the district, construction of the Dhopakhola bypass road outside the town, speeding up construction of the bridge over the Navaganga River at Baripara Ghat in Kalia, starting construction of the Engineer College in Seemakhali and various problems and possibilities were discussed.
The DC said, “I know that people of Narail are very peaceful, friendly and respectful for development this district. As part of the government's development of smart Bangladesh, I want everyone's cooperation for Narail development. Journalists are mirror of the society.
If journalists here highlight the real problems of different sectors of the district, I will try to solve these as a representative of the government. I feel proud to join as Narail’s DC. My first task will be to implement the zero tolerance policy for corruption eradication with stakeholders at various levels in the society.”
Necessary steps would be taken to improve the communication system in the district, he said,
Terming journalism as the fourth pillar of the state, the DC said journalists always play a great role in improving the overall development in the society.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-General) Fakhrul Hasan conducting the views sharing meeting, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Zubaer Hossain Chowdhury, President of Narail Press Club Enamul Kabir Tuku, secretary Shamimul Islam Tulu, its former president Advocate Alomgir Siddique,former vice president Sultan Mahmood, senior journalist HM Siraj among others were present in the views-sharing meeting.
