Intravascular Ultrasound System (IVAS) is being added to the Cardiology Department of Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital. In addition to verifying the need to wear a ring on the heart, this device can also can be used to check if the ring is sitting properly.
Doctors of the cardiology department say that this machine is being added to the CMC hospital for the first time at the government level. Although some government hospitals in Dhaka have this machine, no government hospital in Chattogram had this machine so far. The CMC hospital administration is buying this machine as per the demand of the heart department.
Confirming the information, CMC Hospital Director Brigadier General SM Humayun Kabir said it was the latest cardiology machine. We are buying this machine in response to the demand of the Cardiology Department. The machine has already moved into the department. However, the hospital director said that there are some formalities left in receiving the machine.
It is known that the price of this sophisticated machine is a little more or less of Tk 1.5 crore. There is another machine called Fractional Flu Reserve (FFR) as an accessory to this Ivas machine. Doctors say that in case of blockage in the patient's heart for most cases, it is necessary to put a ring (stent). It is also treated with medicine, especially in the field.
Although, it depends on the size and number of blocks, Ultrasonogram of blood vessels inside the patient's heart can be done with this sophisticated IVAS machine, which brings up the full picture of the blood vessels. Even if there is a block in it, it is easy to check whether there is a need to wear a ring on the heart or not.
Dr. Rizwan Rehan, an assistant professor in the Department of Cardiology, said not just before wearing the ring. This machine can also be used to check whether the ring is sitting in the right place and in the right place. In general, the machine will work just like before the ring is worn, the machine will work even after the ring is worn.
CMC Hospital Director Brigadier General SM HumayunKabir said that Dr. Prabir Kumar Das, Head of Cardiology was instrumental in getting the machine. Due to his keen interest and attachment, this machine is being added to the Chattogram hospital for the first time at the government level. With the addition of this machine, CMC Hospital thinks that the treatment of heart disease will go one step further.
Dr. Prabir Kumar Das, Head Professor of the Department of Cardiology, said that in case of blockage, it is necessary to wear a ring. Again, this block can be removed by taking medicine without wearing the ring. It depends on the blood vessel flu. Whether it is possible to remove the block with medicine only without wearing the ring, it can be easily known through ultrasonogram in this machine. This is a great benefit for patients as well as physicians.
One or two private hospitals in Chattogram may have this facility. But due to financial inconsistency, it is not possible for everyone to take this treatment in a private hospital. Prof. Dr. Prabir Kumar Das thinks that the addition of this machine in CMC Hospital at the government level is a blessing for the poor patients.
