The number of new corona cases is on the rise in Gazipur. 34 new people have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection in the district. With this, the number of victims has increased to 4,798.
So far, 60 people have died of Corona infection in Gazipur. Doctors believe that the number of coronavirus cases will continue to rise if social awareness is not tightened in the district as in the past.
Gazipur Civil Surgeon Khairuzzaman gave all this information on Thursday, August 26 afternoon. He said 138 samples were tested in 24 hours and 34 samples out of them came positive.
Of these 34 people 26 are identified in Sadar upazila; 4 in Sripur and 1 in Kaliakair, Kapasia and Kaliganj upazilas each. 3,099 people have recovered from the virus infection in the district till now.
Of the 4,796 corona affected people, 2,081 are from Sadar upazila, 554 from Kaliakair, 571 from Sripur, 445 from Kaliganj and 348 are from Kapasia upazila.
According to the Civil Surgeon's Office, 34,104 samples have been tested in the district so far.
