Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Awami League senior leader and MP from Gopalganj-2 constituency, formally inaugurated a new bridge over Madhumati river at Gopinathpur under Gopalganj sadar upazila.
He inaugurated the bridge virtually through a video conferencing on Saturday. The 778-metre-long bridge was constructed at a cost of Tk 100 crore.
Chairman of Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Parishad Sheikh Lutfur Rahman Bachchhu presided over inaugural ceremony, while it was attended, among others, by Executive Engineer of LGED Md Ehsanul Haque, Project Director of the bridge Manjurul Alam Siddique, president of Gopalganj sadar upazila Awami League and Mayor of Gopalganj municipality Kazi Liakat Hossain, UNO Md Rashedur Rahman, Awami League leaders Sheikh Mohammad Ruhul Amin and Rafiqul Islam Mithu.
