Netrokona flood victims get rice, cash, dry food

The government has allocated one hundred metric tons of rice, 10 lakh taka in cash and three thousand packets of dry and other food items for Netrokona district to distribute humanitarian aid to the victims of various natural calamities including floods. The allocation was made on Monday by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

Earlier, 2,120 metric tonnes of rice, Tk 3.76cr and 68,000 packets of dry and other food items were distributed in favor of the deputy commissioners from May 17 to June 19 as humanitarian assistance in the recent floods in 11 districts of the country.

This includes one thousand two hundred metric tons of rice in Sylhet district, one crore 73 lakh rupees and 25 thousand packets of dry and other food.

In Sunamganj district 620 metric tons of rice, one crore 46 lakh rupees and 18 thousand packets of dry and other food. One hundred metric tons of rice, 20 lakh rupees and 5000 packets of dry and other food items in Netrokona district. Three thousand packets of dried and other food in Rangpur district. 5 lakh in Nilphamari district and 3 thousand packets of dried and other food. 10 lakh in Kurigram district and one thousand packets of dry and other food. 10 lakh in Habiganj district and 2 thousand packets of other dry food. In Moulvibazar district, one hundred metric tons of rice, 10 lakh rupees and 2,000 packets of other dry food. 10 lakh in Sherpur district and 4 thousand packets of dried and other food. 4,000 dry and other food packets in Jamalpur district. 2,000 packets of other dry food in Kishoreganj district.

Allocated relief (cash) money should be distributed only as humanitarian aid to the victims of various natural calamities including floods during emergencies.
