Nearly 1.5 lakh children to be fed capsule in Chuadanga

Vitamin A plus capsules will be fed from October 4 to 17 to 1,38,649 children in four upazilas of Chuadanga district. Of the total, children are 15,832 aged 6-11 months and children 1,22,897 aged 01yaer to 5 years.

The upazila and pourasabha wise break up at the age of 6-11 months are: sadar upazila 3250, Alamdanga 4334, Damurhuda 3622, Jibannagar 1889, Chuadanga Pourasabha 1200, Alamdanga Pourasabha 750, Darshana Pourasabha 420, Jibannagar Pourasabha 367. 

On the other hand 23,834 children are in Sadar upazila, 32638 in Alamdanga upazila, 26,986 children in Damurhuda Upazila, 14,582 children in Jibannagar upazila, 11,202 children in Chuadanga pourasabha, 7330 children in Alamdanga pourasabha, 3330 in Darshana pourasabha, 2995 in Jibannagar pourasabha at the age limit of 1 year to 5 years. 

These information was declared at a Workshop on Vitamin A plus capsule campaign program with local journalists on October 3 at Civil Surgeon Conference room in the town. 

According to declaration of Dr. ASM Maruf Hosan, CS of Chuadanga at press conference, this year the campaign will be completed within 14 days due to coronavirus infection.  The program will be started from 8 am and ended at 4 pm each day. 

A total of 900 centers will be set up in four upazilas of the district to complete the program. Of the total, 168 centers are set up in Sadar Upazila, 360 in Alamdanga upazila, 168 in Damurhuda upazila, 96 in Jibannagar upazila, 36 in Chuadanga pourasabha, 24 in Alamdanga pourasabha, 24 in Darshana pourasabha, 24 in Jibannagar pourasabh. 

Civil Surgeon Maruf Hasan added that 523 government employees, 40 non-government employees, 1800 volunteers will work for implementation the feeding program. Besides 113 officials of health department and family planning department will be monitoring the feeding activities. 

During the program health rules will be followed by the concerned persons. Social distance will be maintained. Masks and sanitizers will be used, Civil Surgeon Maruf added. 

He also urged to all to help the health department to complete the program with success by the schedule time.
