At one time, goalkeeper coaches were not very popular in Bangladeshi football. The head coach used to train the goalkeepers. With the change of time, goalkeeper coaches have become more popular. Several former footballers have taken up goalkeeper coaching as a profession. One of them is Nuruzzaman Nayan.
Goalkeeper Nayan did not have much star fame in his playing career. However, he has established himself as a coach. He himself achieved Asia's top certificate in goalkeeper coaching a few years ago. Now he has received a certificate to coach goalkeeper coaches. After returning home after the goalkeeper coaches' seminar at the AFC, Nayan said, "From now on, I will be able to do the goalkeeper C and B diploma course. Which is a special event for goalkeepers in Bangladesh. There was never a local goalkeeper instructor before."
Former star goalkeeper Said Hasan Kanan is now working as a goalkeeper coach.
He was recently an assistant instructor in a goalkeeper coaches course with Paul Smalley, former technical director of BFF. As such, Nayon is the first AFC-accredited goalkeeper instructor in Bangladesh, "AFC is providing instructors to prepare goalkeeper coaches in every country. BFF nominated me and I achieved this qualification by completing the course well." Many clubs in Bangladesh are indifferent to goalkeeper coaches. Bashundhara Kings has given great importance to goalkeeper coaching. Kings sent Nayon to Australia for a coaching course. So he gave special thanks to the club for today's position, "I could not have come to this position without the support of the club. I now want to distribute what I have achieved as a goalkeeper coach to the new ones." Nayon's observation about the current goalkeepers in Bangladesh, "The activity rate in the goalkeeper position in Bangladesh is higher than other positions. We are in a good position in the goalkeeper position in South Asia. "I want to take it to the Asian level in the future."
