Like the rest of the country ‘Bashanta Baran Utsab’, a festival for welcoming spring was celebrated in Natore as well. The district administration brought out a colorful procession on Friday morning to celebrate the first day of Bengali month ‘Falgun’ from Kanaikhali ground in the town.
The procession ended at central mosque area of the town after circling the main roads of the area. Local MP Shafiqul Islam Shimul, Deputy Commissioner of Natore Md Shahriaz, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Ashraful Islam, Additional District Magistrate Saiduzzaman, Municipal Mayor Uma Chowdhury Joli and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sharifunnesa attended the procession marking the day.
Government officials, political activists, students and people from different profession also participated in the rally. Later an entertaining cultural ceremony was held at the Muktamancha of Rajbari premises in Natore.
