National social service day was observed in Jhenidah with due fervor. Jhenidah district administration and the department of social welfare jointly organized the day. The day was organized with an aimed the social welfare progressing in the Mujib Barsha in Sonar Bangla (Golden Bangladesh).
A colorful rally was brought out from Chuadanga bus stand in Jhenidah and ended at the starting point parading main roads in the town. Later, a discussion meeting was held at the office of the deputy director of the department Abdul Latif Sheikh in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath attended the discussion as chief guest. Additional deputy commissioner (general) Arif Uz Zaman, additional superintendent of police Milu Mia Biswas, additional district magistrate Rabiul Islam, human rights activist Aminur Rahman Tuku and NM Shahjalal among others spoke.
The speakers gave emphasis on using more and more information and communications technology to serve the people, especially, physically and mentally challenged and ailing people dependent of the service of the department.
They said the country is no longer a bottomless basket as it was blamed in past times. The people of the country have started waking up with the dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina where each and everybody to go ahead for a better world.
