The National Safe Roads Day-2020 was celebrated in Gazipur with the motto "Mujib year's promise, roads will be safer", in Gazipur on Thursday.
On this occasion, different organizations of the district held various programmes. A discussion meeting was held at the Bhawal Conference Room of the Deputy Commissioner's Office in the morning at the initiative of Gazipur BRTA. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gazipur SM Tariqul Islam was present as the chief guest while Additional District Magistrate Md. Abul Kalam presided over the programme.
The function was attended by Executive Engineer of Gazipur Roads and Highways Department Md. Saifuddin, Assistant Director of BRTA Gazipur Circle Md. Enayet Hossain Montu, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Gazipur Traffic Department Farhana Afroz Jemi and others.
Marking the day, awareness leaflets were distributed on the occasion on various highways of the district.
The speakers of the discussion said that life is most important than time.
So everybody must be aware about their life. Many accidents happen due to unawareness and not following the traffic rules.
So the commuters and passengers must follow the traffic rule during their movement on roads, said the speakers.
They called upon the drivers to follow the traffic rules properly.
