National Safe Roads Day observed

‘Promise of Mujib Barsho, Roads will be safer’ with this theme on the occasion of National Safe Roads Day, Nawabganj Police Station in Dhaka organized a rally, road meeting and awareness programme on Thursday.

Nawabganj police started a traffic awareness rally from the central Shaheed Minar premises of the upazila at 10.30 am on the occasion. Police officers, public representatives, transport workers and journalists took part in the rally. 

Nawabganj police station officer in charge Md. Sirajul Islam Sheikh said at the road meeting, “Road safety programmes are very important and invaluable in reducing the amount of death, injuries and financial losses caused by road accidents. We all have to abide by the traffic laws. Each transport must have paperwork and a driver’s license”.

Nawabganj Upazila Awami League general secretary Md. Jalal Uddin, Kalakopa UP Chairman Haji Ibrahim Khalil, Labor leader Amir Hossain Kuti, Chhatra League leader Dipta Dewan and others were present at the time.

On the other, Dohar police also held a rally and a road meeting on the occasion. Dohar Police Station OC Mostafa Kamal, OC Investigation Arafat Hossain and people from different walks of life were present there.
