National Mourning Day observed in Nilphamari

The National Mourning Day-2019 and the 44th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed in Nilphamari on Thursday in a befitting manner. 

The district administration, district Awami League and its associate organisations, many educational institutions and government bodies arranged various to observe the day. 

The programme started through hoisting of the national flag at half-mast in all government, semi-government, private buildings and educational institutions soon after sunrise. 

Later, wearing black badges a huge morning procession, people of all walks of life in the district took part in the progrmames. District government officials also joined the progrmames. The people and the officials paid homage to Father of the Nation by placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Bangabandhu Chattor. A discussion meeting was arranged at Silpokala Academy in the district town. 

Speakers of the discussion highlighted the significance of Bangabandhu in Bangladesh. They showed hate towards them who had conducted the evil works like the assassination. The speakers called upon the people to follow the ideal of Bangabandhu for building a developed country.
