Aiming at creating savings mind-set among students, a School Banking Conference was held in Jhalokathi on Saturday.
Zohar Ali, Deputy Commissioner of Jhalokathi, inaugurated the function of the School Banking Conference as the chief guest through releasing balloons and hoisting of the national flag. Later on, a colourful rally paraded the streets of the town before converging at Fatema Convention Centre to hold the conference.
Presided over by Munshi Zakaria, Senior Vice President and the Divisional Head of General Banking Division of National Bank, the function was attended among others, by Rajunur Rashid, Regional Head and Senior Vice President of National Bank, Siddikur Rahman, Secondary Education Officer, Shariar Hasan Chowdhury, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Bank, Zahidul Islam, Deputy Director of BB (Barishal) as special guests.
Jhalokathi branch of National Bank Limited organised the function in cooperation with other banks in the district. Teachers and students from 84 secondary schools of the district participated the conference.
