The entire curriculum of the National University (NU) is being reconsidered, said Education Minister Dipu Moni.
“Three-quarters of the country’s total honours and master’s students study in national universities. Changes might be brought in the curriculum to ensure that students with an honors or master's degree can qualify for jobs according to requirements,” she said.
She made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a function on Bhaterchar DA Mannan Pilot High School ground in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj district on Friday.
Dipu Moni said, “We want those studying BA, BSc and B Com at the National University to also study ICT, language and other subjects that are required to become an entrepreneur. They should study the subjects that will provide them with employment opportunities at home and abroad. We want all universities to reconsider their curriculum and create an industry-academia linkage.”
The education minister further said that anyone passing the honours or master’s should be qualified according to the demands of the working world so that the students don't have to face any problem in getting a job.
Awami League Liberation War Affairs Secretary Advocate Mrinal Kanti Das and Gazaria Awami League General Secretary and Upazila parishad chairman Aminul Islam were present during this time, among others.
