A condolence meeting and a milad mahfil was held in the Shaheed Ahasan Ullah Master Auditorium in Gazipur on Tuesday to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and remember the martyrs killed in the August 21 grenade attack.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP, spoke at the meeting as the chief guest.
Former president of Chhatra League Masud Rana Ershad and leaders of various district and upazila organizations spoke on the occasion.
Among others , Awami League vice-president Advocate Wazed Mia, Awami League president Muktijoddha Abdur Rauf Nayan, Awami League organizing secretary Mujibur Rahman, district Awami League member and former district Chhatra League president Advocate Abdul Hadi Shamim and Gazipur district League president Babu Sanjit Kumar were president. Zahid Ahsan Russell in his speech called upon all to follow the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for building a developed Bangladesh.
