Demanding release of arrested eminent female journalist Rozina Islam, the journalists of Narayanganj and the members of Narayanganj Sangbadik Union held protest rally separately in the town on Wednesday.
The participants delivered statements that the investigative journalist Rozina Islam unveiled the face of the corrupt officials in the health ministry by her reporting so she fell into a trap.
Speakers of the rally branded the criminal case against Rozina as a false, fabricated and harassment track. It is the tactic to stalk independent journalism at the month of observing free journalism day.
Fire brand voices raised by the journalists of Narayanganj said in the rally that they demand not only bail of Rozina and withdraw the case but also corrupt officials who illegally detained Rozina for six hours have to book in legal procedure.
The rally was held at 11 AM in front of Narayanganj Press Club of Bangabandhu Road that was presided over by press club president Khandaker Shah Alam and moderated by press club general secretary Sharifuddin Sobuj.
