N’ganj in panic for 5139 returnees from abroad

Panic has been prevailing in the people of  Narayanganj district as 5139 returned from abroad in last fifteen days from different countries and they did not abide by  home quarantine rules or even did not  go to the health complex for health checkup.

Quoting the information from district intelligence branch district civil surgeon Dr. Mohammad Imtiaz told the media that among the huge abroad returnees only 69 are home quarantined and 11 being cured after treatment. He added that we have collected  returnees information who returned in Narayanganj from  March1 to March 15. Perhaps, every day people are coming to Narayanganj from abroad but their update information yet not available.

District health department, administration and law enforcers have taken big initiatives for providing treatment to the suspect or affected coronavirus patients. All the hospitals in the district are ready for giving suspected or affected corona patient sufficient treatment. Besides, newly constructed judicial complex at Shayesta khan road in the town had been set up quarantine camp and providing treatment.

District administration taken a lot of measures even formed two separate committee in central and all upazila and union level committee formed for incomer information collection and advised to home quarantine for 14 days. Everyday mobile courts operating against them who ignored the government declared preventive rules.

RAB-11 started formally drive in the city and outskirt city at mass gathering places to disperse them until the situation brought under control. Different organizations have been distributing musk and sanitation equipment among the people in the city.

District private clinic organization association president Dr. Shah Newaz Choudhury formally handed over to civil surgeon a number of patient bed and they have ready 3000 square feet quarantine room. However, thirty lakh district inhabitants feel under panic about incomers from abroad who are still out of quarantined. Giving the assurance civil surgeon addressed the inhabitants of Narayanganj that there is no reason of panic as all equipment had already been reached to us and we are capable to manage the patients.
