Music school, road to be named after Andrew Kishore

Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Kharizuzzaman Liton has paid his final respect to the memory of the renowned playback singer Andrew Kishore by placing floral wreaths on his coffin at the Rajshahi Christian cemetery adjacent to Rajshahi Parjatan Motel on Wednesday. 

After paying homage to the coffin, AHM Khairuzzaman Liton told the journalists that he would talk to the higher government levels in Dhaka to establish institutions on Music learning by the name of Andrew Kishore not only in Rajshahi but also in other places of the country. 

He also declared to establish a Music School by the name of Andrew Kishore in Rajshahi and to give the name of a road after his name here. He also said, he along with the local MP Fazley Hossain Badsha will draw the attention to the honourable Prime Minister so that Andrew Kishore is honoured with the State Recognition Award for his contribution to music in the country and abroad. 

Meanwhile, Fazley Hossain Badsha, Member of Parliament of Rajshahi sadar constituency has said, Andrew Kishore is not only an artist of Bangladesh but he crossed the border of the country for his reputation of music. 

At this moment, there is no one to fill in his vacuum. There is no one to replace Andrew Kishore.  Music of Andrew Kishore will drive us with passion forever.  

Fazley Hossain Badsha was speaking to the journalists during paying his last respect for Andrew Kishore at Rajshahi City Church on Wednesday.  

He further mentioned, Andrew Kishore wanted to be buried in Rajshahi which bears a great prestige for us and it is our collective responsibility to retain his memory with due respect through ages. 

Badsha said, he has requested the honourable Prime Minister to honour him with a state recognition so that people of the country remember him forever.  

Among others, ward councillors, political leaders and personalities from diverse professions attended funeral of Andrew Kishore.
