An accused of a murder case gave confessional statement before the magistrate court on Friday evening. The accused confessed to his involvement in the murder. He stated that he and his friends committed the crime due to previous enmity.
Judicial magistrate Kawsar Ahmed recorded the confessional statement.
Police arrested accused Manik alias gear Manik, 20, on Friday and produced before the court.
Investigation officer of the case and locals claimed that Manik and other four friends killed their another friend Rakib on Sunday night at Nayamati when Rakib returning home by rickshaw. Rakib, 20, is son of Nowshad Bepari of Naria police station in Shariatpur. He worked in a scraped iron shop at Nayamati area.
Prime accused Manik is son of Abul Kalam, resident of Shahapur village of Chandpur. He also worked at a shop at Nayamati area.
Petitioner of the case Nowshad Bepari said that the killing committed by friends base on previous enmity.
