Chuadanga Municipal election was held peacefully without any untoward incidents on Monday.
According to Chuadanga Election Commission Office 33 polling centers were set up in the municipal areas.
There are about 67,808 voters in total in Chuadanga municipality. Among them 32,818 are male and 34,990 are female voters. All of them got the opportunity to exercise their franchise on the day.
Visiting some of the polling centers it was seen that both male and female voters were casting votes standing in lines.
Mobile teams with Executive Magistrates were monitoring the voting centers to complete the voting process peacefully. Police personnel were also deployed to maintain law and order in the centers.
In the first phase, the election was held at other municipalities under 23 districts. Voting in 24 municipalities began at 8:00 am. Awami League nominated candidates in the mayor post were elected in majority of the municipalities.
