Muktijoddha Sangsad election soon: Shahjahan Khan MP

President of the parliamentary standing committee on Liberation War Affairs Shahjahan Khan, MP had said they are hopeful that the election of the Muktijoddha Sangshad will be held soon. 

Gazette of completion of submission of the voters’ list is almost at the finishing stage and the remaining work will be completed within the next few weeks, the MP added.

Shahjahan Khan, MP informed this while addressing a gathering at Jhenaidah district Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Sunday morning.

Shahjahan Khan said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had formed an election commission headed by cabinet ministry secretary for holding the election. He is the chief election commissioner. The committee had demanded voters’ list from the minister of liberation war affairs. The election is now just waiting for the voters’ list. 

In the gathering, chaired by ex commander of Bangladesh Muktojoddha Sangsad Jhenaidah district unit commander Makbul Hossain, Shahjahan Khan, MP spoke as the chief guest. Earlier he attended a discussion with the heroic Freedom Fighters at the same venue.

United freedom fighters’ central committee member secretary Osman Ali, former commander of Bangladesh Muktojoddha Sangshad Jhenaidah district unit commander Siddique Ahmed, deputy commander Golam Mostafa, Golam Rais and Manwar Hossain Malita among others attended the programme as special guests. Former deputy commander Zillur Rahman Tatar conducted the discussion.
