The biopic on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman titled ‘Mujib: The Making of a Nation’ will be screened at the 48th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The lead actors of the film- Arifin Shuvoo and Nusrat Imrose Tisha-are scheduled to fly to Canada to participate in the event to be held from September 7 to 17 in Toronto, Canada.
The biopic is a Bangladesh-India joint venture production directed by Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal. The film received a censor certificate in Bangladesh recently.
In an interview with Indian media, Shyam Benegal said, “Mujib: The Making of a Nation’ will premiere at TIFF for the first time. After the screening at this festival, the movie will be released simultaneously in Bangladesh and India anytime between September and December.”
In the film, Arifin Shuvoo played the role of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman while Nusrat Imrose Tisha portrayed Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib. The star cast also includes Fazlur Rahman Babu, Chanchal Chowdhury, Nusraat Faria, Riaz Ahmed, Gazi Rakayet, Dilara Zaman, Raisul Islam Asad and others.
