Barrister Selim Altaf George, MP from Kushtia-4 constituency has personally provided grants for the rehabilitation and education of neglected children of Daulatdia sex village.

MP Barrister Selim Altaf George handed over Tk one lakh in cash to the Daulatdia Save Home Authority on Friday afternoon at his office.

Biplob Ghosh, General Secretary (Acting) of Goalanda Upazila Awami League, Shafiqul Islam Sajjal, General Secretary of Goaland Municipal Awami League, Save Home Officer and Amjad Hossain Fakir, Organizing Secretary of Upazila Awami League were present there. It is learned that the Daulatdia Save Home has been operating for a long time to bring the neglected children of Daulatdia sex village into the mainstream of society and rehabilitate them. Many have learned to read and write from this privately run Save Home. Many are currently studying in schools, colleges and universities from this save home.

Muktijoddha Fakir Abdul Jabbar, the current chairman of Rajbari Zilla Parishad and executive director of Karmajibi Kalyan Sangstha, a private development agency, set up the save home. This save home has been run for a long time with grants from various donor agencies. But since the donor agency stopped funding for some time, the Save Home authorities went to great lengths to run the organization. The education of more than a hundred boys and girls here was almost stopped, including maintenance.

Barrister Selim Altaf George on learning of the matter handed over the grant to the authorities on his own initiative to run the Save Home.

At the time, the MP said that if this save home was closed, then the education of the children of the backward and neglected sections of the society would be stopped. So, he stood by the Save Home authorities.
